Sculptural Books
The main binding we will use has been devised from Japanese screens. This binding
is so versatile that in a concertina format it has excellent sculptural qualities with
pages that can be almost any irregular shape. While as a codex book, the emphasis
can be placed on the page surface with images and text. The binding can be the main
decorative element of the book or it can be entirely hidden. For participants who like
sculptural books, this is a very suitable structure because of its versatility and limitless
possibilities. Suitable for beginners or experienced book binders. The tutor will provide
sheets of Kozo for binding as required. (Cost of Kozo is $3.50 per sheet.)
