Paper Textile Possibilities – Creating and Making with Paper Cloth and Textiles
TUTOR
Anzara Clark (Victoria)
In this workshop we explore the creative and functional possibilities of paper as a textile. Paper cloth can be used for a wide range of creative projects - including 2D and soft sculptural objects, functional accessories, or simple garments.
Through the traditional techniques of Joomchi (Korean Paper Felting) and Momigami (Japanese paper texturing and strengthening), learn to turn paper into cloth, and how to add dimension and textural effects to your paper fabric. Use your paper cloth to create a functional paper accessory, garment or artwork of your choice; using design, construction and finishing techniques developed and adapted for paper textiles.
About the Artist
